John Stebbins founded StebStrategies in June 2013 with the aim of putting his more than 30 years of management experience to work helping diverse organizations leverage their strengths.

Information Technology: managed-technology and business services
Project scope: Consultant and sounding board to founder and president, and senior staff. Review all corporate systems in each department and identify major areas in need of change; devise strategies and implement solutions designed to resolve key issues and achieve organizational continuity; serve as additional eyes and ears for the president in top client meetings for second opinion and perspective. Write strategic and tactical documents for internal and external consumption.
Petroleum Products: lubricants, chemicals, and commercial and retail fueling
Project scope: Consultant to vice-president and CFO. Identify major areas that need change and devise strategies to resolve key issues; write strategy documents for internal use for the purpose of reorganizing the sales and operations functions, key personnel, compensation structures, and communications workflows; make recommendations for strategy implementation.
Industrial Fire Protection: wet and dry commercial and industrial fire suppression systems
Project scope: Managed-technology and business services consultant to senior management team. Identify key areas in which workflow could be automated and manual processes eliminated or substantially reduced; interview all affected stakeholders and map existing workflows; help develop criteria for building a custom-automated Enterprise Resource Planning software system to support senior management's need to make better decisions by being able to track and deliver variable information more efficiently and accurately.
Geosciences: mining and mineral exploration and production, environmental assessments, and remediation
Project scope: Consultant and sounding board to founder and principal. Devise startup strategies and recommend courses of action to launch, build a sustainable foundation for, and develop the business.
Survey Products: design, manufacturing, and distribution of survey caps, markers, and monuments
Project scope: Consultant and sounding board to president. Identify major areas in need of change and devise strategies designed to resolve key issues; recommend courses of action for mapping and harnessing company intellectual property and institutional memory for on-going training purposes, corporate continuity, continued business success, and market-share growth.
John Stebbins' Bio
Throughout his career, John has worked in a number of industries, including: business and management consulting, information technology managed-services, digital printing and business support services, mining exploration and production project management, oil and gas exploration project management, and numerous sectors of retail management. His Tucson-based digital printing company received the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Northern Pima County Arizona, Chamber of Commerce) Micro-Business of the Year award in 2008, and a runner-up for the Small Business of the Year Pinnacle Award in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in geography, with an emphasis in economics, at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
John has traveled to all but one U.S. state (Alaska), throughout Western Europe and much of Mexico, and to many parts of Canada. He has lived or worked in 13 U.S. states; in British Columbia, Canada; and Seville, Spain. John has been a sponsor and major supporter of or has participated as a volunteer in a variety of community-based philanthropic organizations and events, including: Harvest for Hope; Oro Valley Optimist Club; The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, and Project Graduation. He has also volunteered his time while serving on several local Chamber of Commerce committees. When not working to help his clients accomplish their objectives, he is most often writing, reading, and pursuing his photography interests while hiking in the wilds of New Mexico.
